Source: Company News Release

BioStorage Technologies, a global provider of comprehensive sample management solutions for the bioscience industry, today announced that the company's U.S. biorepository facility has received accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Biorepository Accreditation Program.

The first of its kind, the CAP biorepository accreditation program is a three-year, peer-based accreditation developed to drive the adoption of standards through consistent application of best practices and evidence-based standards. Launched in 2012, the program is designed to further strengthen the quality of patient care and ensure consistent, verifiable quality of biospecimens and biorepositories lacking in the current environment.

“Receiving this accreditation only underscores BioStorage Technologies’ foundational commitment to quality sample preservation that meets or exceeds industry standards,” said Gregory Swanberg, CEO, BioStorage Technologies. “Properly preserved samples are critical scientific assets that hold the key to accelerating the development of targeted, personalized diagnostics and therapies that will improve patient healthcare worldwide.”

As a practitioner of Good Storage Practices, BioStorage Technologies’ state-of-the-art biorepository facilities in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific are dedicated to the preparation, storage and cold-chain transport of human biological samples for a wide variety of customers, including academic centers, contract research organizations, donor organizations, tissue banks and biotechnology companies.

All of BioStorage Technologies’ facilities maintain US FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliant technology systems and adhere to local government regulations, GxP compliance as well as U.S. Department of Transportation and International Air Transport Association guidelines.
