PR Newswire PETACH TIKVA, Israel, March 14, 2013 PETACH TIKVA, Israel, March 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Macrocure (http://www.macrocure.com), a biotechnology company developing advanced
cell therapy products, announced today that the European Patent Office (EPO) intends to grant a European patent covering Marcocure's
flagship product, CureXcell®. The patent will be officially granted under an application titled "Activate
Leukocyte Composition" and will provide patent coverage for CureXcell® in Europe
through March 2030. CureXcell® is a novel approach to treating hard-to-heal wounds by replenishing the imbalanced inflammatory
environment in non-healing wounds with a broad array of functionally-active allogeneic immune cells. These cells are superficially
injected into the wound bed, once a month, and release the necessary cytokines and growth factors for the wound to heal. About 5,000 patients with various types and severities of hard-to-heal wounds have been treated in Israel.
CureXcell® has been approved for reimbursement by the Israeli Ministry of Health. "The granting of a European patent for CureXcell® is a significant milestone for MacroCure, which fits
with our strategy to become a leader in the hard to heal wound treatment market in Europe,"
said Nissim Mashiach, President and CEO of Macrocure.
