TrialScope, the global leader in clinical trial transparency and compliance solutions, today announced two executive appointments. Brian Flaherty will join the TrialScope team as Vice President of Business Development. Additionally, Thomas Wicks has been appointed to the position of Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). Brian Flaherty joins the TrialScope team with 19 years of sales experience including 10 years selling within the life sciences industry. Brian most recently held the position of Global Executive Director of Sales at Covance Clinical. In his new role, Brian will lead TrialScope’s sales efforts, including account management and new business development.

United BioSource Corp. (UBC), a subsidiary of Express Scripts, has appointed Don Gabriel, MD, PhD, an expert in targeted oncology treatments, to its Global Clinical Development & Operations team. Under the leadership of Sandra Lottes, PharmD, vice president of Global Clinical Development & Operations, Dr. Gabriel will direct UBC’s consultative services to pharmaceutical sponsors developing oncology therapies.

PRC Clinical, a Silicon-Valley based contract research organization announced today several management and executive appointments effective immediately. ­Mike Catelani will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and member of the Board of Directors.Daniel Head is appointed to Vice President of Business Operations, and Sue Dowden will assume the position of Senior Director of Clinical Operations. Tony Taricco, co-founder and current Chief Operations Officer (COO), has been appointed to the position of President and Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Pharmaceutical Product Development, LLC (PPD) today announced it has appointed Jon Denissen, Ph.D., as Vice President of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) laboratories. Denissen brings over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and contract research organization (CRO) industries. He is based in PPD’s GMP lab facility in Middleton, Wisconsin.

“Jon’s experience includes successfully leading scientific teams and building effective client relationships that facilitate research collaboration,” said David Johnston, Ph.D., executive vice president of global laboratory services for PPD. “Our GMP laboratories provide fully integrated laboratory services for all phases of drug development, and Jon’s leadership will help drive PPD’s client-centric, quality-focused culture.”

BioClinica^®, Inc., a specialty clinical trials services and technology provider, today announced the opening of a Research Triangle Park (RTP) office in North Carolina in response to a rapidly expanding customer base of study sponsors and Clinical Research Organizations with whom it has strategic partnerships.

LabConnect, a leading global provider of central laboratory services, will be moving its operations center in Johnson City, Tenn., to a new, 42,000-square-foot custom-built facility effective May 7. LabConnect’s laboratory testing facility in Johnson City will remain in its current location.
