SCORR Marketing, a full-service marketing and communications firm in the health science industry, has appointed Jeremy Edwards as Vice President of Strategic Business Development.

PAREXEL has appointed four former FDA experts to senior executive positions in its Regulatory Consulting group. These experts are Kurt Brorson, Ph.D., who worked with the FDA for 26 years, primarily in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research; Changting Haudenschild, M.D., who has 12 years of experience with the FDA’s Office of Tissue and Advanced Therapies in the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER); Mo Heidaran, Ph.D., who worked with the FDA’s CBER for more than nine years; and Mwango Kashoki, M.D., MPH, who brings over 16 years of drug review, development and regulatory experience at the FDA.

CRF Bracket celebrated its second anniversary of the opening of its eClinical technology facility in Romania, which now employs over 200 people.

The WIRB-Copernicus Group®’s (WCG) Market Intelligence & Insights Division has acquired First Clinical Research LLC, organizer of the MAGI (Model Agreements & Guidelines International) Clinical Research Conference. First Clinical Research also publishes the Journal of Clinical Research Best Practices. Norman M. Goldfarb, MBA, CRCP, founder and managing director of First Clinical Research, will join WCG as its Chief Collaboration Officer.

Altasciences, a mid-size CRO specializing in preclinical, clinical, bioanalysis, and research services, has unveiled a new brand identity and website. Altasciences’ companies, Preclinical Services in Seattle, Algorithme Pharma, Vince & Associates Clinical Research, and Algorithme Pharma USA, are now further united under the Altasciences brand.

For the second consecutive year PAREXEL was named to Forbes’ “America’s Best Employers for Diversity.” The ranking is based on results of independent survey responses from more than 50,000 Americans working for companies from various markets including healthcare, technology, and more, and also factors in executive diversity and proactive diversity and inclusion initiatives.

PAREXEL was also recognized by FlexJobs as a “Top 100 Companies with Remote Jobs in 2019,” for the sixth consecutive year. The ranking recognizes companies that provide the most remote-friendly positions.

 

Milestones

Apptomics, Inc., a provider of digital solutions for neurological care, announces that the digital platform E.V.A (Evaluation. Validation. Action) has completed a sub-study that puts the platform onto the path towards validation for use in tremor.

Certara, a provider of model-informed drug development, regulatory science, real-world evidence, and market access services, reported that more than 90% of novel new drug approvals by the US FDA in 2018 were supported by Certara software or services. 

Dabl, a Dublin, Ireland-based provider of cardiovascular disease and blood pressure data management and data analysis products, as part of a consortium of companies led by Tyndall Institute, have been awarded stimulus funding from the Irish government to share in $8.7m to develop wearable technology. For dabl, this will result in a completely new product, which will be commercialized in the clinical trials industry by dabl. It is intended that the product will include novel methods of measuring various vital signs e.g. blood pressure, ECG, blood sugar, which will all be incorporated in a wearable device.

Veeva Systems announced more than 150 companies are implementing its Veeva Vault RIM suite of RIM applications on the cloud platform, including four of the top 10 largest global pharmaceutical companies.

Trialbee, a provider of patient-matching and engagement technology has announced two commercial milestones with two of the top 10 pharma companies. Trialbee’s two partnerships use both its patient recruitment platform and engagement application for patient retention and study procedure compliance.
