Medidata Unveils AppConnect Partner Program
Program Brings Together Medidata’s Cloud Technology and Digital Health Experts to Develop Mobile Tools for Patient Engagement in Clinical Research
NEW YORK, NY –
“These partnerships are a critical piece of our ongoing effort to make it easier for life sciences companies to bring mobile health tools into the highly structured world of clinical trials,” said Kara Dennis, Medidata’s managing director of mHealth. “The rapidly expanding ecosystem of mobile health technologies requires openness and interoperability, and we want to ensure our clients have access to powerful mobile capabilities that improve both scientific programs and patient experiences.”
Since the launch of Apple
“In moving digital health innovation forward to change the way we conduct clinical research, trial sponsors are looking for their remote patient research models to provide the highest levels of data privacy, process rigor and storage. Medidata has played a pivotal role in this important shift, creating the infrastructure and a roadmap to help guide the life sciences industry into what happens next,” said John Reites, chief product officer and partner at THREAD. “We’re really excited to be partnering with a like-minded pioneer in this space such as Medidata, helping our joint customers adopt mobile health innovation to change the way they conduct research and engage their patients.”
“As the first commercial developer spotlighted in Apple’s ResearchKit launch, we’ve seen firsthand how the mHealth revolution has helped research studies transcend traditional brick-and-mortar limitations,” said Corey Bridges, CEO of LifeMap Solutions. “Thanks to Medidata, that revolution now hits its next big milestone: merging the innovation and flexibility of the Internet with the power of the Medidata Clinical Cloud. As a result, life sciences companies can reduce clinical development costs and risks, and deliver new drugs and devices to the market faster than ever before.”
Shyam Deval, president of Boston Technology Corporation, added: “Our partnership with Medidata is truly going to deepen our capabilities and help create tangible value for our clients. Mobile solutions are paving the way for enhanced patient experiences and engagement, improved adherence, better data capture, and smarter analysis and insights. With Medidata’s industry-leading platform and advanced mHealth technology, we can now create compelling solutions to increase the efficiency and productivity of clinical trials conducted worldwide.”
Executives from Boston Technology Corporation, LifeMap Solutions and THREAD are participating in Medidata Symposium, which runs from October 17-19, 2016. The annual conference provides Medidata clients and service partners with opportunities to learn and share best practices for the effective design, planning, execution, management and reporting of clinical studies using the Medidata platform. AppConnect partners will participate in a panel discussion on trends in patient engagement and best practices for developing apps and other mHealth solutions for clinical research.
