Medidata Unveils AppConnect Partner Program

Program Brings Together Medidata’s Cloud Technology and Digital Health Experts to Develop Mobile Tools for Patient Engagement in Clinical Research

NEW YORK, NY – Medidata, the leading global provider of cloud-based solutions for clinical research in life sciences, today announced the launch of its AppConnect Partner Program in support of mobile health (mHealth) innovation. The program combines Medidata’s cloud and mHealth technology with access to digital health firms that have extensive experience developing patient engagement tools for clinical development, such as mobile apps and remote patient research platforms.

Boston Technology Corporation, LifeMap Solutions and THREAD - whose work and client-base spans across regions and multiple therapeutic areas, and includes apps such as MIT VoiceUp, Asthma Health and EpiWatch, respectively-are the first companies to be certified as AppConnect partners.

Since the launch of Apple ResearchKit, clinical trial sponsors have been increasingly interested in incorporating mHealth technology into their research programs. Medidata is at the forefront of this adoption curve, enabling sponsors to successfully instrument patients, collect a wide variety of objective and patient-reported data, and integrate this information with other clinical data. The AppConnect Partner Program, unveiled today at Medidata Symposium in Phoenix, will further those efforts by creating an ecosystem that allows life sciences companies to gather and analyze data collected in a myriad of different ways between patient visits to a clinical trial site.
